About Mosquitoes:

Humans and mosquitoes have a symbiotic relationship called parasitism, when only one organism benefits.

Trial and Error:

We did not measure everything exact so we are not able to determine the carbon to nitrogen ratios.

Goal- To exterminate mosquitoes efficiently.

Prototype - #1

Our first prototype’s goal was to capture mosquitoes efficiently. We filled a five gallon bucket with compost that consisted of; paper shreds, Java Moss, Duckweed, Aged  Wood Chips, and fruit. Then, we utilized a PVC pipe; four inches in diameter, drilled small holes all over the pipe, and placed it in the center of the compost bucket, ensuring that no compost got under the pipe. Then, We used a small cone and drilled a hole in the vertex of the cone and attached a aquarium filter bag. After that, we proceeded to put the cone with the filter bag inside the PVC pipe. Then we took the cone with the filter bag out and ran it through a hole in the lid of the bucket and taped the cone down. We taped it down with black duct tape to ensure its security. When it was secure, we drilled a large four inch hole into a plastic dissection tray  and put a fan upside down on top of it and ran the wire out of the way to put another cone on top of the fan and drilled a hole in the vertex in the cone. Finally, we secured everything in place with black heavy duty duct tape and plugged the prototype in to start running.
